End of season debrief
Spent the afternoon looking at pictures of athletes. I have some plans for program improvements next season. The athletes are skiing well but, we can all do better. I do love to coach skiing!. I did not post as much as I was hoping this season but, I have not given up on this blog....sorry.

Some bigger mountains!
As the early season got underway in the east, I made a few trips to some bigger mountains. The small mountains were not anywhere near open. I went to Whiteface right after Thanksgiving...not too much open but pretty good skiing. I caught a great day!
Here is a shot from the top looking down on Little Whiteface!
A week later, I went up to Sunday River for a few days with athletes (and families) from our ski club. We have been going up after Thanksgiving for about 6 years...we took one off for covid. It is such a great ski area..I love going there. It was a little "narrow" but we had fun. This was the least open the mountain was in the 6 trips we have made. Here are some of the athletes with Mount Washington way in the background!
On the way back, I stopped at Killington to work as a course conductor at the PSIE-E ProJam. Killington, again, had a lot of the mountain still to get open. Superstar was in great shape as this was 2 weeks after the world cup races. I had a great 5 days of skiing!
All for now..

Blog revival attempt number...hmmm.
Sitting, watching the sunset on a nice summer camping trip, I decided to try and start writing in this blog again. It is now November so, here I go. I have retired from my year round work and am soley a skier now...yay! After a cold September, it has been a warm October. The first few days of November are looking pretty warm as well. It is nice for working out to get ready for the season but, come on. I hope to ski Thanksgiving weekend and have a lot of skiing planned for December. More to come soon!

Ok, I know it has been years since I posted anything. I keep writing drafts and never put them up. I recently came across an Italian blog about coffee makers. I cannot figure out how to post a picture on his blog so I am posting it here. I will get back to posting about skiing someday....I have been skiing tons in the years since I last posted. I am still coaching and travelling to many small (and sometimes big) ski mountains...

It has been many years since I have posted on this blog. Over these years I have continued to ski at many small mountains, many times during the season. I am coaching young athletes in ski racing and still having a ball doing it. I plan to start posting regularly again. Skiing at small mountains seems to be on the decline (still) so promoting the joy of skiing at a smaller skiing venue is something I continue to be passionate about and I hope to do a small bit to help keep it alive and well. I am lucky enough to spend the winter skiing over 60 times with the same dozen or so ski racing athletes. Here's a couple of them on the chair in front of me today!

Strange blog hits
This fall I started getting a lot more hits on this blog. While I was quite happy about this, I found it odd because I don't really add content too often. I thought perhaps it was because of my post about seeing Lindsey Vonn. I assume there are many people around the globe that regularly search the internet for Lindsey. I would guess those that found this blog are many pages into their search results before they get here. Like my appreciation for small ski mountains, I also appreciate my small readership! I used to work for a company where there was a person whose job was to keep track of internet posts about the company. I discovered this when she sent me an email commenting that she came across my coaches bio on our ski team's website. That profile mentioned that my regular job was with the company. There is a traffic counter on the blogger dashboard that shows where the prime hits are coming from...I am getting hits from an amazingly inappropriate web site. A quick search on Google showed many bloggers are complaining about this issue as well. I wonder if it is a person or just a machine that is hitting this blog? Either way there is a pervert behind it. Because I don't subscribe to the full suite of information you can get from blogger, I don't have complete information about the traffic. Currently, to my relief, the two main hits are from the Google search engine and something from Russia that appears to be a search engine too. Much better but why is someone in Russia worried about, and searching for, little ski area skiing in the Eastern USA. Anyway, as I sat down to write this morning, my intention was to talk about the nice early season skiing happening in the East. I decided as I started, to change my cover picture and write this instead. I am simply trying to write about the joy of the sport through the experience of skiing, mainly, at little ski areas. How about the great early season this year!
